Welcome to CBTR!
Coffee Bean and Tea Reads is a blog dedicated to all you book, coffee, and tea lovers out there. It’s for the bookworm who loves chilling at their favorite book nook with drink and book (or e-book) in hand. It’s for the bibliophile who spends hours browsing through shelves at Book Sale, National Book Store, and Fully Booked or websites like Amazon.
It’s for the book nerd who unabashedly reads and rereads what they like, and who push other readers to give their favorite books and authors a try.
As Haruki Murakami wrote in his novel Norwegian Wood:
If you only read the books that everyone else is reading, you can only think what everyone else is thinking.
This blog is for you who would rather buy new books than new clothes, who play video games primarily for the story, who listen to audio books and radio-dramas while in transit, and whose number one reason for buying a tablet is how readable comics, graphic novels, and magazines are on it.
As Stephen King wrote in On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft:
Books are a uniquely portable magic.
And books are now more portable than ever!
Welcome to Coffee Bean and Tea Reads: to the world of a male reader in his 30’s who reads and writes what he likes, and is precisely the kind of reader described above.
I hope you’ll enjoy reading about the books I read, the video and board games I play, the TV shows and movies I watch, and other random nerdy things. Apologies in advance if I write about some old or dated stuff. I grew up in the 90’s!
Enjoy, and let’s chat in the comments section! 🙂
